Ella Blake is a stopmotion animator in Stopmotion who is subject to strict parental control. Ella mother dearest makes it apparent to her that in her opinion, her mother is the real artist. However Ella is now in charge of handling the technical aspects of stop-motion creation because her mother hands are broken due to arthritis. Ella mother continues to be her tormento director and brains. As difficult as life and working with her mother can be Ella finds it even harder to conquer her inner demons in the wake of her controlling mother passing.
